About Picibird
Picibird is an independent buying-guide site about chicken coops, covered runs and automatic coop doors for backyard flocks.
We write for people who keep a few hens at home and want a coop that's roomy, dry and easy to clean. Our aim is simple: help you pick a coop and a door that fit your flock, your yard and your routine.
What we cover
Our guides cover wooden, plastic and metal coops, coops on wheels and walk-in runs. We sort them by how many hens they hold, how they're built and how easy they are to move and clean.
We also cover door openers: battery, solar, plug-in and Wi-Fi models. And we answer the setup questions most new keepers ask, like nesting boxes, roost space, floors, windows, winter cold, summer heat and pests.
How we work
We read the specs, the assembly guides and each maker's own information for every coop and door we cover. We also look at what owners often report after a few months in the yard.
Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.
What we are not
We don't make or sell coops or doors, and no brand pays us to rank its products. Picibird isn't affiliated with Omlet, Run-Chicken, Aivituvin, VEVOR or any other maker.
We don't claim to have built every coop or hung every door ourselves. When we pick something, we say why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.
We don't give advice on bird health. For sick or injured hens, talk to a vet who treats poultry.
How the site is paid for
Some links here go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
That never decides which coops or doors we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
